Way back in 2003, Land Surveyor's
Workshops’ president, Larry Phipps, had a
novel idea: Why not teach continuing
education classes for surveyors aboard a
cruise ship? Teach quality,
industry-relevant classes in the morning,
and afternoon and party all night! How could
that be a bad thing? In the spring of 2004,
the inaugural cruise set sail for the
Caribbean and has since become a wildly
successful annual event. The cruise has
taken surveyors to the exotic ports of
Cozumel, Grand Cayman Islands, Costa Maya, San Juan, Jamaica, Belieze, Puerto Vallarda, Cabo San Lucas, St Thomas and St Maartan. It’s a fun and affordable way
to get up to 24 hours of continuing
education credit and network with surveyors
from around the country.
Land Surveyor's Workshops has chosen the Norwegian cruise lines for 2012. It features 14 delicious dining options, 9 bars and lounges, a sprawling spa, an always-exciting casino, plus tons of fun for kids of every age. From traditional fine dining to endless buffets with custom-order action stations, there is a host of delicious options included in your cruise fare. For an additional cover charge, you’ll have access to a world of possibilities including gourmet French, Japanese teppanyaki and an upscale steakhouse – 14 different dining options in all. A state-of-the-art fitness center, Second City® comedy troupe a sports court, bars and lounges of all kinds, pools, hot tubs, and more are all on board and included in your cruise fare. Sail from New York to this lovely island, which sits just 600 nautical miles off the eastern seaboard. Anchoring at King’s Wharf for three nights, gives you the freedom to explore the beaches, golf courses, restaurants, shops and historic monuments at your leisure.
The ninth annual Land Surveyor’s Workshops Continuing Education Cruise will set sail from New York City on Sunday, September 30th, 2012, to King’s Wharf, Bermuda aboard the Norwegian Star. While at sea, participating surveyors will have the opportunity to take up to 24 hours of continuing education classes, all of which are taught by some of the industry’s leading instructors.
While the exact classes that will be taught
are not determined until after the cruise
registration has closed, past classes have
dealt with subject matter ranging from GPS
Surveys, ALTA standards, FEMA and elevation
certificates, to the land surveyor in court
and expert witness testimony and reports, to
being better at the business of surveying
through marketing and pricing.
You choose how much or how little time you
wish to spend in the classroom. We
strategically design the seminar schedule to
ensure that you have time to study and play.

Prices
LSW has secured the best rates for our
educational cruises by booking our rooms
more than one year in advance! We also offer
our continuing education courses at a
significantly reduced cost. In fact, you
will be able to choose up to 24 hours of
classes from our list of available classes.
We anticipate that participants will arrange
their schedule to obtain 24 hours of credit.
Of course, you can choose to take less.
That's entirely up to you! We do not believe in hidden fees and “gotcha” pricing. The figures you see quoted include all the non-optional items. Yes, that price includes taxes, port fees, fuel charges and all the other stuff that others pile on top of the too good to be true price they always want to quote. The price of $1990 includes both you and your spouse in an interior cabin.
